Published authors and aspiring writers are welcome. You do not need a published book to take part.
How the pilot works
- Create a free Book Tree account, or sign in to your existing account.
- Add your writer name and a short introduction.
- Add one complete short story, its genre and a featured image.
- Save a private draft or submit for editorial review.
- If approved, your story and writer introduction become public, with a link readers can share.
The pilot includes one story per writer, with no submission fee. Selection is editorial; submitting does not guarantee publication. Existing members use the same account.
Choose mystery/suspense, romance, fantasy or paranormal romance. Submit a complete story rather than an unfinished excerpt.
You retain ownership. You must have permission to publish the story and image. The submission form asks you to confirm this before submitting. Public publication may affect eligibility for outlets seeking previously unpublished work.
