About Emma

Emma Charlesworth is a writer and advocate for those navigating grief and life after loss. She began documenting her journey on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic after her husband Charlie fell ill and lost his life in 2020. Her writing blends honesty, resilience, and warmth, using her personal experience to help others feel less alone. Emma is the creator of Life Is a Rollercoaster, a blog followed for its unfiltered look at grief, solo parenting, and the quiet strength found in everyday moments. Is Daddy Going to Be OK? is a powerful memoir about love, loss, and learning to carry on while honouring the person who shaped your world. It is now shortlisted in The People’s Book Prize 2026/2027 Non-Fiction collection. Emma lives in Kent with her daughter and is committed to ensuring that Charlie’s story, and the stories of so many others lost during the pandemic, are never reduced to statistics.
